Due to the Covid-19 global pandemic, Lamplighters Music Theater did their first ever virtual gala. Pride and Pre-existing Conditions was one of three mini-productions featured! Using the music of Gilbert & Sullivan but with an original script and libretto, you’ll find familiar tunes and hilarious new lyrics.

“Mas que nunca” is a gorgeous art song by Colombian composer, Jaime Leon Ferro.
“The Blackest Crow” and “Diamond Joe” are two songs from a the cycle Old American Songs composed by Dr.Stephen Senderoff. They are folk inspired classical art songs written for voice, oboe and guitar. The 2019 ALS Concert of Hope was a tribute to Dr.Senderoff, who lived with ALS for almost 20 years.
“Ready or Not” is a beautiful ballad filmed in the style of a vlog and the third musical number from Alexander Frank’s a cappella music drama, “Finding Connection”.
These two arias are from Rossini’s opera L’occasione fa il ladro and are sung by the character Berenice.
It is described as follows by the composer: ” ‘Come With Me’ pushes the boundaries of contemporary opera – not with an avant-garde score or staging, but by taking opera off the stage and into your screen, much like Menotti’s “The Old Maid and the Thief” did on the radio.”
Menotti’s one-act opera, The Telephone, is a comedy about love, communication and technology.
Musetta tries to win back the affections of her former lover, Marcello, on Christmas Eve at a restaurant in Paris.
